Acceptable Use & AI
Use IG-AIM responsibly, protect other learners and understand the limits of AI feedback.
Effective and last updated: 1 November 2026 · Version 1.0
Learn with integrity
Use explanations and feedback to develop your own understanding. Follow your school’s and examination board’s rules on AI assistance, attribution and assessments. Do not submit AI-generated work as your own where this is prohibited, impersonate another student or use IG-AIM to cheat in a live exam.
Protect people and content
Do not upload unlawful content, exploitative sexual material, threats, harassment, private information without authority or content that infringes intellectual property. Use past papers and published material only where you have permission or a lawful basis. Do not record another person’s voice without appropriate permission.
Protect the service
Do not distribute malware, probe systems without authorisation, scrape personal data, evade usage limits, share or resell individual accounts, automate abuse or interfere with availability. Report suspected vulnerabilities privately to [email protected]; do not access or disclose other users’ information to demonstrate a finding.
AI feedback requires human judgment
AI explanations, writing marks, pronunciation feedback and suggested corrections can be wrong. Check important points against the relevant syllabus, official materials and a qualified teacher. Outputs are learning support and do not certify ability or replace official assessment. Never rely on the tool for medical, legal, financial or other high-stakes decisions.
Authenticity indicators are not proof
Any AI-authenticity label or probability is an uncertain estimate. False positives and false negatives are possible. It must not be treated as evidence that conclusively establishes cheating, or used as the sole basis for discipline, grading, exclusion or another consequential decision. Teachers must review context and allow the student to respond.
Reporting and enforcement
Report misuse with enough context for investigation, without circulating harmful or private material unnecessarily. We may remove content or restrict accounts proportionately to the issue, subject to legal duties and the Terms. Contact support to contest a restriction. This policy does not waive any mandatory consumer or privacy right.
